Pushing Ourselves Every Day to Do Our Best

At the Cedars, we never rest with the status quo and constantly push ourselves to provide the highest quality of care. Cedar Crest was the first independently owned and operated facility in the state to receive the Bronze American Health Care Association Step I Quality Award. To qualify, we were required to positively demonstrate our organization-wide commitment to a customer-focused facility mission, identify our customers and what they expect and indicate our how we are striving to meet those needs. The level of commitment and teamwork required to achieve this award is apparent in everyday life at The Cedars. Many of our department leaders have been with the facility since the beginning and fully understand the compassion and commitment required succeed in this “business of care.”

Another outstanding example of our commitment to quality is our accreditation by The Joint Commission of Healthcare Organizations. Receiving accreditation from The Joint Commission is extremely difficult—but it is also completely voluntary. Many facilities have in fact dropped out from the process with less than 10% of RI facilities accredited today. We think that having Joint Commission accreditation sets us apart and that the achievement process keeps our staff and services a cut above.

The Joint Commission

An independent, not-for-profit organization, The Joint Commission accredits and certifies more than 20,500 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards.

Our Mission: To continuously improve health care for the public, in collaboration with other stakeholders, by evaluating health care organizations and inspiring them to excel in providing safe and effective care of the highest quality and value.

Vision Statement:  All people always experience the safest, highest quality, best-value health care across all settings.
