ASSISTED LIVING AMENITIES
The Cedars is situated on an attractive 20-acre hilltop assisted living site adjacent to the beautiful woodlands of the Champlin Scout Reservation in Western Cranston. Our central location is convenient to all major area hospitals, shopping, highways (I-95 and 295), as well as T.F. Green Airport. When touring The Cedars campus, you will notice the attention to detail that creates both a home-like environment for our long-stay residents and a welcoming and healing setting for our short-stay patients.
Assisted Living Amenities at the Cedars
Natural Imagery Improves Mood and Outcomes
When and considering new artwork for our walls, we researched “evidence-based” design that demonstrates how natural imagery can reduce stress and anxiety, reduce the use of pain medication, and shorten patient stays. Guests often comment on the beautiful, framed works by world-famous, Australian photographer, Peter Lik, found throughout The Cedars. Every day we hear positive reviews from patients about our spacious, 2200 square foot rehabilitation gym that is light, bright and furnished with state-of-the-art therapy equipment and modalities.
Technology Improves Patient Care and Quality of Life
If you look around the facility, you will also see evidence of our new electronic documentation system—freeing up hours of clinical time formerly spent on paperwork now devoted to patient care. Nurses use computers at patient bedside for instant documentation and access to medical records. Nursing aides input patient information directly into wall-mounted computers allowing all clinical staff access to up-to-the-minute patient information.
A Tranquil Garden Escape
Outdoor spaces at The Cedars also reflects our commitment to person-centered care. Our Healing Garden was created to invite visitors to breathe deeply and experience a place of peace while connecting to nature. Enjoyed by residents, patients and their families as well as employees, it is a truly serene environment. Design was kept simple to foster stress reduction and emotional healing. Focal points such as a koi fish pond with fountain and strategically placed, resident-made bird houses evoke positive feelings and hold the attention of the visitor furthering relaxation.
