Cedar Crest Recognized By The Genesis Center for It’s Partnership
Cedar Crest over the past several years has worked closely with the Genesis Center located in Providence Rhode Island. Each year, Genesis Center serves over 650 individuals in adult education and workforce development and over 100 children in its childcare program. Their adult education classes and occupational/job skills training focus on enabling people to improve their employment skills, pay scales, and prospects for promotion. On-site childcare helps adult students attend classes knowing that their children are nearby and well cared for. Over the past 5 years, Cedar Crest has employed over 20 interns and currently have 10 full time employees.
Jim Naylor and Susan Whipple were presented with the Genesis “Community Champion Award” for their support and dedication to workforce development. It is an honor for all of us at The Cedars to accept this award. “This program benefits both Cedar Crest with a steady, well trained staff and at the same time provides an opportunity for interns to grow in a workplace environment.” ~ Jim Naylor NHA Jim has been the champion, developing the intern training program, employing and nurturing each individual to enhance their lives and The Cedars.
